Why is communication so important during an emergency?

Communication is very important in emergencies  such as natural disasters. By communicating millions of people's lives can be saved. Not only that, medical supplies and other necessities can be sent from other countries to help the horrible situation. Without communicating in an emergency the state if it will not change.
